This calculator is free to use and free of accounts, adverts and limits. What follows is the short list of things it is not, written plainly because a money tool that hides them is not worth trusting.
This is an estimate, not tax advice
The figures are a model of the income tax and payroll contributions owed on wage income for one tax year, built from published rate tables. They are intended for comparing offers and understanding a payslip. They are not tax advice, not legal advice and not financial advice, and no result here is a statement about what you personally owe.
Using it creates no professional relationship
Reading this site, entering figures or writing to us does not make anyone here your accountant, your tax preparer or your adviser, and nothing sent through the contact page is treated as confidential. Decisions with money attached belong with a licensed professional who can see your whole situation.
Accuracy is worked at, not warranted
Every rate carries the document it came from and the day that document was last read, and errors are corrected as fast as they are found. Even so, tax rules change, sources are revised and transcription can go wrong, so the calculator is provided as it is, without a warranty that any figure is accurate, current or fit for a particular purpose.
What we are not liable for
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from acting on a figure from this site, from it being unavailable, or from a rate that turned out to be wrong. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid to use this calculator, which is nothing.
Every figure is dated
Results apply to the tax year named beside them and to no other. Past the validity window of the data behind a page, the tool shows a warning rather than a number. A result you saved or shared last year is a record of what the tables said then, not an answer for now.
How to report an error
A wrong figure is a defect. Report it through the contact page with the salary and state that produced it, and the reply names the document the figure was checked against and what changed.
